My counseling career started in the field of alcohol addiction at a local treatment facility. I did assessment of adolescents to determine if they were appropriate for inpatient treatment. I also worked with the families of the adolescents. My 15 years as a middle and high school teacher helped me immensely in this setting. Also, I was a primary therapist in the first local residential codependency treatment center. During my 25 years in private practice, I have been involved with many adult experiential groups including 7 day intensives and ongoing weekly process groups.

I currently work with adults in individual and couples sessions. I believe my life experience enhances the education and training I have experienced through the years.  I have a Masters Degree from TSU, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor/Mental Health Service Provider (LPC/MHSP) licensed by the State of Tennessee Division of Health Related Boards.  I am also an Approved Supervisor for LPC candidates.  My husband and I live on a farm in Cheatham County with Lola, the cat, and Soozie our beautiful German Short-haired Pointer.
